To setup 24 hour mode or countdown to December 24th, simply use the configuration app on your phone to set your preferences. This app can be found within the Android Wear app by selecting the Christmas Countdown Watch Face app and then selecting the gear symbol on it.
After installing this watch face, you may need to restart your phone and watch to make it display on your Android Wear watch.
