MyGovID is an authentication app provided by the official Australian government website.
Australians can now create a myGovID digital identity using Android and Apple iOS devices. Your myGovID is a digital identity certificate recognised by the Australian Government to access government services online.
Its developers, the Australian Taxation Office and Digital Transformation Authority, say both individuals and businesses will be able to unlock the online service after passing verification.
First, download the myGovID app. Next, enter your details - including your full name, date of birth and a personal email address that only you have access to. Finally, verify your identity to increase the strength of your identity. You can choose to authenticate with your id or your photo.
If you are unable to log in because you cannot access the myGov security code, you will need to create a new myGov account and link to the ATO again. This can happen if you change your phone number. Went overseas and can no longer access your Australian mobile number.
Use the following links for guidance on verifying your identity.
Passport (not more than 3 years old)
Verify your photos.
Driving Licence (including Learner's Permit)
Birth certificate.
Visa (using your foreign passport)

Citizen card.
If you experience delays in authenticating your id, please leave your app open for up to 15 minutes while authenticating your id. If the app times out, forcibly log out and wait 20 minutes to log in again. If successful, the file will no longer appear in the list of verifiable files.
